The Samsung Galaxy S IV Unveiled on March 14

The Samsung Galaxy S IV Unveiled on March 14 One
of the most anticipated devices of the year was notably absent at the
Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. While many people who would have
loved to get a glimpse of the Samsung Galaxy S IV at this year’s Mobile
World Congress may have been disappointed, it has now been announced
that the wait to see Samsung’s most important mobile device is almost
over.

The Samsung Galaxy S IV will be unveiled on March 14 at New York City’s Radio City Music Hall.

This is the first U.S. launch of Samsung’s flagship phone in three
years. The Galaxy S III was released last year in London. The move
appears to be Samsung’s way of asserting their relevance in their battle
with Apple for the mobile market.  While Apple may have the advantage
over Samsung Electronics in the U.S. handset market, Samsung is a global
giant, with a wide advantage over their rival in global markets. For
their part, Samsung Electronics’ mobile division chief JK Shin, stated
that Samsung changed the venue for the release to New York due to heavy
requests from U.S. mobile carriers.

The device specifications will not be released until the grand
unveiling at Radio City Music Hall.  However, there are many rumors
about regarding the features of the Galaxy S IV.  The device is thought
to have a 4.99’’ full HD screen and a 13-megapixel camera.  For those
unfamiliar with the previous version of the Galaxy, those specs include
both a higher resolution display and camera than the former version.
The Galaxy S IV is also expected to have a faster quad-core processor.
Rumor has it that it will have an Exynos 5 8-core processor. The device
is also expected to run on Android 4.2.2 and have 2GB of RAM. Of course,
the official specifications could be different, and we will have to
wait to get the full details when the phone is unveiled on March 14.

Nokia 808 PureView Has a Monster 41-Megapixel Camera

BARCELONA — Thought that Symbian was dead? Think again: at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Nokia has just announced the 808 Pureview,
a flagship Symbian device with a 41-megapixel camera.

You read that right, 41 megapixels – Nokia has made this happen by combining Carl Zeiss optics and Nokia-developed pixel over-sampling technology. High megapixel count does not equal quality photos, of course – we’re looking forward to seeing how PureView tech works in real life.
Of course, the PureView technology will be coming to upcoming Nokia phones as well, so get used to phones having crazy megapixel numbers in the near future.

The 808 PureView also features something called Rich Recording, which lets you record “crisp, clear audio (…) up to a thumping 140 decibels,” says Nokia.

The rest of the specs mostly spell mid-range: a single core 1.3 GHz CPU, a 4-inch, 360 x 640 pixel screen, 512 MB of RAM and 16 GB of storage.

The device will retail for 450 euros, hitting the market in May.

And, going back to the question we asked at the beginning – whether Symbian is dead, as many have predicted – Nokia declined to say. In any way, even if 808 PureView is the last Symbian we see, at least the PureView technology will live on in other handsets.

It’s Official: Samsung Has a 10.1 Inch Galaxy Note

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 Teaser

BARCELONA: We’re getting set for our first big meeting of Mobile World Congress, but Samsung is making no secret about what they plan on showing us this morning. A substantial portion of the first floor of the Fira Palace Hotel in Barcelona is festooned with giant images of Samsung’s latest Android Tablet: the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1. Like the 5-inch Samsung Galaxy Note, this 10.1-inch tablet has a stylus.

And that may be the only difference between it and the 10.1-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab. We’re waiting to get more details, since we can’t tell much from the image (is it an Android 4.0 device? Does that 3G in the lower left-hand corner mean no 4G?) and, perhaps, some hands on time. Until then, you can feast your eyes on the image above.

Samsung has also announced a new Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 inch tablet and an interesting device called the Samsung Galaxy Beam projector smartphone combo device. We’ll have more on both of those products, shortly.

Samsung Announces 10.1 Galaxy Tab 2

BARCELONA: Samsung is expanding its Galaxy Tab tablet line with the brand new Galaxy Tab 2 lineup: a 7.0-inch variant and a 10.1-inch variant.

While the smaller tablet was announced a week ago, its big brother, the 10.1 is entirely new. It sports an 1280×800 resolution screen (the 7-inch model has a 1024×600 pixel screen), and the rest of the specs between the two tablets are nearly identical: a 1 GHz dual-core CPU, 1 GB of RAM, a 3-megapixel camera on the back and a VGA one on the front.

The tablets are available as 3G models (meaning HSPA) or as WiFi-only, and they’re both equipped with the latest flavor of Android – 4.0 or Ice Cream Sandwich.

The devices should hit the global market in March, starting with the UK, at a yet-unspecified price. g-tab-2_101

Samsung Galaxy Beam Is Both a Smartphone and Projector

ارتباط

BARCELONA: The Mobile World Congress hasn’t even officially kicked off yet, and Samsung is already on fire, announcing devices left and right. After the 10.1-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab 2, next in line is a smartphone/mobile projector combo called Samsung Galaxy Beam.

The device’s dual-core 1 GHz CPU, 4-inch, 800×480 screen, 5-megapixel rear camera (with an additional VGA one on the front) and Android 2.3 don’t do much to differentiate it from the other mid-to-high-range Androids out there.

What makes it different from most other smartphones on the market is its ultra-bright, 15-lumen projector, which lets you project a 50-inch wide image on a wall – really handy for presentations or those moments when you want to share your holiday photos with your family and friends.

Interestingly enough, Samsung says the device has 6 GB of RAM memory, but we’re seriously doubting that, and will update the article when we learn more.

Asus Padfone Finally Launching at MWC

It has been awhile since we heard from one of the more interesting devices in recent memory, a device called the Asus Padfone. The phone and tablet concept that we first saw at Computex 2011 has had a long road to launch but according to a report from Modaco, the device (in its final form) should finally be revealed at the Mobile World Congress which is set to start next month.

This falls in line with an earlier report that pegged the Padfone’s launch date somewhere in early 2012.

The device is supposedly going to come with a quad-core Tegra 3 processor, the same processor found in Asus’ Transformer Prime tablet, as well as Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.

There is also talk of it coming with a Snapdragon S4 processor so it looks like we’ll have to wait until MWC to find out for sure.

So you might wondering, what on earth is this Padfone?

Padfone

Very simply, it’s a smartphone that will be able to plug into a tablet. Think of the docking feature that comes with many of Motorola’s high-end smartphones and you’ll get a feel for what the Padfone is all about.

Plug the smartphone into the tablet and you’ll get a large screen that will display the contents that are displayed on your phone.

It will also support Asus’ popular keyboard dock for the Eee Pad Transformer series.

Asus is trying to blur the lines between smartphone and tablet and it will be interesting to see if the company can pull it off. Luckily, we only have a couple of weeks before we find out if the Padfone is truly something to get excited about, or if it’s just a gimmick.

What do you guys think?

Are you sold on the Padfone?

Huawei Goes High-End With Diamond Smartphones

http://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/4AyAMTn8px0
Huawei’s new high-end smartphones, which will be introduced at Mobile World Congress next month in Barcelona, will be part of the company’s new ‘Diamond’ series. The Diamond series, according to Huawei’s chairman Richard Yu, will best the company’s latest Ascend P1 S

smartphone flagship, which was introduced just this month at CES 2012.

The Ascend P1 S was a noteworthy introduction at CES 2012 thanks to its super slim form factor, besting even the slim Droid RAZR, and small footprint despite powerful internal specs.

Yu didn’t go into specifics about how the Diamond series will best the Ascend P1 S nor did he go into details about the specs for the new phones.

Whatever the case may be, it’s an exciting time for Huawei as the company attempts to replicate HTC’s success in the smartphone space and try to build a brand for itself. Like HTC in its early Pocket PC/Windows Mobile days of yore, Huawei started out as a manufacturer that rebrands its phones at the request of carriers and other retailers. Now that Huawei is trying to shape its own destiny with its own brand, it is stepping up its game from entry-level handsets into the
high-end market. And with the solid build quality of the T-Mobile Springboard Android tablet, it seems that Huawei has a lot going for it.

We’ll just have to wait for a few more short weeks to find out what exactly Huawei will be showing off on the international stage.

LG X3 Quad-Core Phone Gets Detailed (Image)

2012 is surely going to the be the year of the quad-core smartphone and so it comes as no surprise that a quad-core smartphone called the LG X3 leaked out today. What is a little surprising is how much detail leaked out. Not only do we have the meat of the the X3′s specifications, but we also have a nice image to marvel over before it arrives, likely at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next month.

So what you see here is a phone codenamed X3 that will likely be hitting shelves sometime during the third quarter of this year. Yeah, unfortunately, it’s not going to be here for awhile.

A shame, considering the specifications on board.

LG X3

In addition to the phone’s Tegra 3 quad-core chip from NVIDIA, we also have a massive high-resolution display which sits at 4.7-inches and boasts 1280×720 resolution. It’s also said to have an 8MP rear camera, a 1.3MP front-facing camera, 16GB of internal storage space, and will apparently have a massive 2,000 mAh battery.

All of that will likely come in a form factor that is just 9mm slim, a design that will also supposedly house an NFC chip and a radio for HSPA+, although LTE will likely be in the mix as well.

It’s also probably going to be running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich when it arrives and we hope it does, especially if it’s going to be out in Q3.

The X3 looks to be a very solid device and it has got us excited about what’s in store at this year’s MWC.
